What is SSC ?
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will be holding the COMBINED GRADUATE LEVEL EXAMINATION. This will mark the commencement of Examination Reforms in the Commission. Staff Selection Commission is introducing ON-Line Application of the examination with the facility of payment of application fee through State Bank of India, either through Challan or on-line payment. You can join an coaching centre to make best SSC Exam preparation. The salient features of the Combined Graduate Level Examination are:
i. The examination will substitute five earlier examinations- Combined Graduate Level Examination, Tax Assistant Examination, Sub Inspectors in Central Police Organizations Examination, Statistical Investigator Gr II Examination, and Compilers in RGI Examination.
ii. The written examination will be conducted in two tiers; the first tier utilized for short listing candidates for the second tier and will also have weightage in the final selection.
iii. Each candidate applying for multiple posts will need to submit only a single application with onetime payment of examination fee, relieving the candidates of the burden of submitting multiple applications with payment of fee with each application.
iv. Entire recruitment cycle is proposed to be completed in 11-12 months against almost two years at present for Combined Graduate Level Examination.
v. All papers will have only objective type multiple choice questions, amenable to machine scanning and quicker and more objective evaluation.
vi. Interview/Personality Test is prescribed only for posts for which interaction with the general public will be necessary immediately after entry into service.
vii. All India selection will be made for all the posts as at present. SSC will conduct Graduate level combined exam for 16 posts. Staff Selection Commission will conduct Graduate Level Combined Exam for following posts-
1. Assistant Central Excise
2. Income Tax Inspector
3. Preventive Officer
4. Sub Inspector of CBI
5. Division Accountant
7. Upper Divisional Clerk (UDC)
8. Inspector (Examinor)
9. Assistant Inforcement Officer
10. Section Officer (Audit)
12. Tax Assistant
13. Sub Inspector in Central Police Organisation (CPO)
14. Section Officer ( Commercial Audit)
15. Statistics Investigator Grade II and III

Candidate’s age must lie between (a) 20 to 27 years for Assistant Grade & SIs in CBI (b) 18 to 27 years for inspectors of CE/IT & Div. Acctts/Auditors/UDCs, etc., (c) 20 to 25 years for SIs in CPOs on the first day of the August of the year of Examination.
The upper age limit may be relaxed in respect of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes and such other categories of person as may, from time to time, notified in the behalf by the Government of India to the extent and subject to the conditions notified in respect of each categories.

The preliminary test (PT) will be common for all above posts. This exam will have 200 marks. There will 50 marks for General Intelligence and Reasoning test, 50 marks for General Awareness, 50 marks for Numerical Aptitude , 50 marks for English Language in above PT exam. Only qualified student in PT (1st Tier) exam will be eligible for 2nd round (2nd Tier) exam. Only objective questions will be asked in 2nd tier exam. There will be three type of question in 2nd tier exam. First paper will for Mathematics Abilities. The second paper will be for English Language. And the third paper will be mix questions from Economics, Statistics and Commerce. English paper will be compulsory for all posts. The English question paper will have 100 question and 200 marks. Each question paper will be for 2 hrs. Mathematics Abilities question paper will not for Sub Inspector post in CPO. Mathematics Abilities question paper in 2tier exam will have 200 question for 200 marks. Third question paper will have 100 questions for 200 marks. All questions in 2 tier exam will be objective type.
